Wrestival 2022 Wrap Up: New Champs, Huge Events, Major Awards & more!

Wrestival 2022 Wrap Up: New Champs, Huge Events, Major Awards & more!

IWTV closed out 2022 with a huge Wrestival weekend in Worcester, Massachusetts that saw Matt Tremont become the 13th IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion and Violence Is Forever (Kevin Ku and Dominic Garrini) win the T4 Summit Tournament to become the inaugural IWTV Independent Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

Tremont won the World Title by defeating Adam Priest at the conclusion of the Championship Invitational Gauntlet on IWTV's Class of 22 event. The most decorated American death match wrestler of all time, Tremont was days removed from ultraviolent wars with Sawyer Wreck (H2O) and Brandon Kirk (ICW No Holds Barred), but managed to come out on top in an absolute blood bath last Friday (12/30) night.

Violence Is Forever defeated The Mane Event (at Expect The Unexpected), MSP and The Brick City Boyz in route to their T4 Summit finals match against the Miracle Generation at Beyond Wrestling's Heavy Lies The Crown on New Years Eve. The highly controversial title victory, saw the now four-time IWTV Independent Wrestling Tag Team Of The Year, VIF, attack the already injured Dustin Waller before the bell, forcing Kylon King to go it alone.

In addition to these huge championship victories, the fan-voted IWTV Independent Wrestling Awards were given out at Wrestival.

For the first time ever, the Wrestler Of The Year award was a tie, with "Speedball" Mike Bailey and Alec Price receiving the exact same number of votes.

Match Of The Year was awarded to an ICW No Holds Barred four-way fight between Krule, SHLAK, Sadika and Mickie Knuckles, with Kasey Kirk's American Deathmatch Championship victory being voted moment of the year. "Any Style" Adam Priest accepted both of these awards without the approval of anyone affiliated with ICW No Holds Barred or IWTV.

The nine event, three day, Wrestival weekend featured major events from Pizza Party, Wrestling Open, ICW NHB, Blitzkrieg Pro, IWTV, Prestige, Pro Wrestling Grind, Limitless and Beyond Wrestling all of which are available on demand now on IWTV.
