Weekend Wrap-Up - Orange Cassidy Makes His 4th Title Defense At Sold Out Flying V Theatre Debut Event
It's Monday which means it's time to review the news and notes from the weekend that was in indie wrestling.
- Independent Wrestling Champion Orange Cassidy showed up with his backpack to Flying V Theatre's debut event Fight Or Flight on Friday night and made an unannounced defense of the title against Bobby Shields. The defense was Cassidy's fourth as champion, and the first IWTV Title match in Maryland. The show also saw Kimber Lee defeat Samantha Heights, Logan Easton LaRoux best DJ Z and The Ugly Ducklings get the win over The Legion Of Rot in the main event. - Canada's C4 Wrestling held their debut event of the year, Nightmare City, on Friday night in front of a huge sellout crowd at St. Anthony's Hall in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The show saw Josh Alexander walk out as the new C4 Champion and will be available on demand here on IWTV soon.
- Beyond Wrestling held a studio taping in Philadelphia that aired live on IWTV on Sunday. The show featured commentary from Joey Janela and will be available on demand here soon.
- GCW announced that Japanese wrestling legend Minoru Suzuki will wrestle at their Bloodsport event which takes place on Thursday, April 4 at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey as part of The Collective.
- IWTV aired CHIKARA's Don't Go To Sleep on Saturday afternoon as part of our weekly catch up of the promotion as they head into their 20th season which starts on 2/10 at National Pro Wrestling Day. This Saturday at 2pm we will air Cibernetico: 7 Man Army in it's entirety.
