Portuguese wrestling star Red Eagle is coming to Family Reunion.
The European standout is making his return to the United States for the first time since competing against Tracy Williams at IWTV's Futures event in late 2017. Since that time Eagle has gone on to wrestle in Japan and recently competed against Zack Sabre Jr.
Eagle will be representing Portugal's Centro De Treinos De Wrestling (CTW) at the event, a promotion he started as a training school. "After 2 years of just being a training school I decided that as there was no wrestling federation here, I wanted to make a proper business in Portugal," said Eagle. "Now CTW is a growing international wrestling federation, with the help of visiting wrestlers and students from Portugal who train at the school."
Red Eagle grew up around the wrestling business. At the age of 12 he began attending local events and ran errands for wrestlers. Shortly after this he began taking photographs and asked his father to build him a ring from scratch. After two years of self training in his backyard and stints at different schools in Portugal, Eagle decided to go abroad to become a better wrestler. "I went to Spain to train with Zero 1 and I only had enough money for the cheapest trip and the cost of the training and nothing for food. I was then invited to go to other schools in Europe to get more knowledge and during this time received additional training from Ultimo Dragon, Dick Togo, Doug Williams and Johnny Moss. This training brought me back to Portugal to start my own school."
A versatile competitor in the ring, Red Eagle showed off his high flying skills in CHIKARA's 2017 Rey de Voladores tournament, but is also known for his technical wrestling acumen as demonstrated in his excellent bout with Mad Dogg Maxx from CTW's Incidente International event.
"I feel honored and privileged to represent Portugal wherever I wrestle," said Eagle. "It is always a pleasure to remember when I was a kid with a ring in my back yard when I go to other places and be grateful to the people who look after me around the world."
