Making a Hippo Skull for Goonta

On this episode, I take on a new challenge—creating a one-of-a-kind mask for WWT star, “The German Hippo” Goonta Guhstenschlammen. This project marks my very first attempt at foam carving, a process that pushed me into uncharted territory. Using a mix of techniques, including working with a hot wire, I shape, sculpt, and refine the material into something both functional and fearsome. Watch as raw foam is transformed into a mask worthy of the ring, balancing experimentation with tradition. This video is about risk, craft, and bringing Goonta’s larger-than-life persona to life through design.
